Central University of Kerala - CUK Kasaragod is one of the 15 new Central Universities established under "The Central Universities Act, 2009 (Act No.25 of 2009)", situated at Kasaragod, the northern-most district of Kerala. Central University of Kerala (CUK) has state-wide jurisdiction. Central University of Kerala - CUK Kasaragod has started functioning in a three-storeyed building at Nayanmar Moola, 5 km away from Kasaragod town. Offices of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Finance Officer, Controller of Examinations, Classrooms, Faculty Cabins, Library, Computer Centre, Council Meeting Hall, Faculty Apartment, etc. are also housed in this building. Preparations are being made in the same building for Science Departments proposed to be launched in 2010-11. This is a time of unprecedented competition, growth and fast changes in the higher education scenario. Consequently, it is a challenging time for all those who are involved in the activities relating to education.
Expansion, Excellence and Equity are envisioned as operational parameters of Universities in India. In the present globalized socio-economic world, the students have a right to be provided with a learning system with international standard. Central University of Kerala - CUK Kasaragod, thus, have become crucial agencies in equipping the young generation for their personal development and for the development of the nation. The new 15 Universities have been launched with this goal of reaching the most advanced knowledge to as wide a range of stakeholders as possible.
Central University of Kerala - CUK Kasaragod is committed to the realization of this objective by providing instructional and research facilities in all suitable and relevant branches of learning. Special provisions shall be made for integrated courses in Humanities, Social Sciences, Science & Technology in our academic programmes. Inter-discipliniarity will be promoted in the academic courses and research. Innovations in modern teaching-learning process will be implemented, avoiding rigidity and exclusion in extending the borders of learning and research resources.
Central University of Kerala - CUK Kasaragod shall educate and train the manpower for the development of the country; establish linkages with industries for promoting science and technology. The activities of the University will be planned in order to contribute to the improvement of the social and economic conditions of the people by developing their intellectual, academic and cultural resources.
