Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati was established in 1996 by Padma Shri Dr. M. Mohan Babu has grown in its size and stature over the years, from an initial intake of 180 to 1020 students. Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati is one of the largest Engineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and the first of its kind in Rayalaseema. The College has achieved many benchmarks. Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati as been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The College has submitted proposals for Integrated Campus and Autonomous Status and is all set to seek Deemed University Status in near future. Many eminent academicians and dignitaries who visited the College have acclaimed the quality of education imparted in the College and appreciated its achievements since its inception. Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati has got permission from AICTE to start B.Tech (Civil Engineering) course and two M.Tech programs (one in Software Engineering and the other in VLSISD) from 2009-2010.

A modern Computer Centre caters to the day–to-day advancements in Information Technology. Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati has equipped with excellent computing facility. At present the Computer centre is equipped with over 985 terminals with necessary accessories, which are supported by appropriate software. Internet facility is available with 6.5 MB leased line. This facility is provided to the student at free of cost from morning 08.00 A.M. to 08.00 P.M. through out the year.
Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati library started 14 years ago in a humble way has grown in many directions fulfilling the ever increasing information needs of the departments on one hand and keeping abreast of the emerging technologies relating to library. A new building to house the library is underway at a central point of Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati campus. This is designed on the principle of “Green Architecture” using natural resources. The building will be of three floors initially making a provision for an addition of two more floors. Each floor will be of 15,000 Sqft making a total carpet area of 45,000 Sqft. The estimated cost of the building is Rs. 6 crores. The development activity will gain further momentum when the library moves to the new building. Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati offers different kind of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Diplomas courses.
As part of its social outreach programme, Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati has formed a Placement Consortium to help the engineering and science students of neighbouring colleges. Students from these colleges in the nearby towns of Srikalahsti, Puttur, Madanapalle, Tirupati and Nellore benefit immensely from this Consortium. Reputed companies like Wipro, Cognizant, EDS, Syntel, Siemens, Keane, iGate, i-flex, AIG Software, etc., have conducted campus interviews and recruited students through the Consortium. Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College – SVEC Tirupati has signed an MoU with Infosys Technologies Ltd., Hyderabad, under Infosys Campus Connect Program to train non-IT students and is currently running this programme successfully. SVEC has also signed an MoU with Sharp Software Development India Pvt. Ltd., and Cosmic Circuit.
