Sri Vasavi College - Erode motto consists of three Tamil words: Arivu, Anbu, Aram – meaning Wisdom, Love and Charity. The shield is divided into four sections. In the top left corner is the Goddesses Sri Kanniga Parameswari, with whose unflinching blessings and love we progress; in the top right corner is an open book symbolizing wisdom; in the middle portion is a balance and a cow representing equity, justice, and charity; and in the lower part is a thousand-petal lotus in a pond traditionally known for ever-unfolding wisdom. The motto is inscribed in the lower part. The name of the College in Tamil is on top of the shield.

Sri Vasavi College - Erode, sponsored by Erode Vidya Sangam, is entering its thirty-sixth year of its fruitful service in the cause of higher education in this part of this country. Started by altruistic, munificent, philanthropic Arya Vysya community people in 1967 as a Pre-University College, it is now a beacon light of knowledge and excellence in higher education. The college is situated on the NH-47 Cochin-Salem, on the picturesque hill slopes of river Cauvery. It can be easily reachable by train or by bus from Erode, and by air from Coimbatore. The college became a co-educational institution in 1997.
The self-finance wing of Sri Vasavi College - Erode, sponsored by Erode Vidya Sangam, was started in the year 1994, with a view to introduce job-oriented courses in the state-of-the-art technology. Started as an evening college in the year 1994-95, it was converted as Day College, Self-finance-Wing in the year 1999. Sri Vasavi College - Erode is located at 672, SKC Road, Erode, Tamil Nadu. Established in the year 1967, Sri Vasavi College - Erode library, spread over 3500 sq.ft, has over 42,000 volumes of books. It subscribes to 72 periodicals of both Indian and foreign sources. The library has a proud distinction of having bound volumes of “The Hindu” published in the last 23 years. Apart from text and reference books, it stocks large collection of books and materials for preparing competitive exams such as IAS, IPS, ICS, RRB, CDS, TNPSC, UGC (NET), and SLET. The library is kept opened on all working days, from 9.30AM to 4.30PM. Inter-library loan service is offered to the members with the co-operation of other libraries.
A branch of Lakshmi Vilas Bank and Vasavi College Post Office are functioning in Sri Vasavi College - Erode Campus. During 8th Plan Period, the Department received Rs.1,00,000 towards the construction of a History Museum. The museum has separate sections on numismatics, models of ancient and medieval monuments, urns, palm-leaf records, epigraphs from various temples, excavated articles, and tribal dresses and instruments. To avoid peak hour traffic congestion, the college provides a fleet of transport services for the comfortable journey of the students.
Physical Education is part of Sri Vasavi College - Erode education. Only a sound body will have a sound mind. The Department of Physical Education takes every step to actively involve the students in sports and games. Every year, our students participate in University level tournaments. Cricket, Kho-Kho, Kabadi, Volley ball and athletics are some of the areas in which our students have excelled. The department also encourages indoor games like Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, Shuttle Cock, etc. The College has excellent infrastructure for football and cricket grounds, The College has a concrete basket ball court with floodlight facility. Also, many types of equipment are available for gymnastics.
The National Service Scheme unit of Sri Vasavi College - Erode has been a growing entity since its inception. From a single unit, three decades ago, it has now grown to accommodate 600 student members grouped into 4 units. The aims of the NSS team are properly realized through their help rendered to the society. Separate camps for boys and girls are organized every year to inculcate service mentality in the tender minds of youth. In every camp, around Rs.2 lakhs worth of help in the form of laying roads, laying drinking water pipes, white-washing schools and temples, providing bus stop shelters, conducting free medical camps, conducting veterinary medical camps, and conducting awareness programmes for the rural mass.
The National Cadet Corps unit of Sri Vasavi College - Erode was started in the year 1970-71, with an aim to inculcate discipline, patriotism and other desirable qualities in the minds of students. During its inception, the strength was 70, and currently, the strength is 115. The boy NCC Wing has strength of 90 and the girls NCC Wing, which was started in the year 1999-2000, has strength of 25. Both the boys unit and girls unit are performing well. Lieutenant M.Thamarai Kannan is the NCC officer of the boys-wing, and Ms. K.Rajini is the care-taker of the girls-wing. Sri Vasavi College - Erode provides Diploma, bachelor Degree and Master Degree program to the students.
The career Guidance and Placement Cell of Sri Vasavi College - Erode was started in the year 2001. So far 18 companies approached us for their recruitments. Among them Eureka Forbes and URC Constructions (P) Ltd., conducted direct campus interviews in our campus. More than 50 students got selected in various interviews. Training programmes, personality development programmes, and mock interviews are periodically arranged to make the students more employable. The cell also assists in getting projects for final year arts and science students.
