Swami Prasad Maurya is an Indian Politician and belongs to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). He was born on January 2, 1954 in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. He completed his Bachelors in Law (LLB) and Masters in Economics (M.A) from the
Allahabad University. He worked as an agriculturist and practiced Law at the Honorable
Allahabad High Court. He started his political career in the year 1980 from Allahabad as a convenor of Yuva Lokdal. He became the member of State Executive Committee of Uttar Pradesh Yuva
Lok Dal in the year 1981. He worked as a Chief General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Lokdal from the year 1989 to 1991. He was appointed as the General Secretary of the Bahujan Samaj Party, Uttar Pradesh on January 2, 1996. He worked as a Revenue Minister and Cooperative Minister from May 17, 2007 to May 30, 2009. He was elected as an M.L.A from the Padaruna constituency in the General elections of the year 2012.
