St John’s College is one of the most beautiful Christian colleges in India. This educational
Temple was established in the year 1850 by Church Missionary Society (CMS) of England &
Agra C.M.S. Foundation. The college is currently affiliated with Dr.Bhimrao
Ambedkar University (Earlier known as Agra University). The Centenery Wing of the college was inaugurated by the first prime – minister of India Pandit
Jawaharlal Nehru and its foundation stone was laid by
Bharat Ratna Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.
It has one under-graduate department and seventeen post-graduate departments will all the research amenities.

The college gives special consideration to the downtrodden caste and class of the society. In the year 1892, this college admitted its first schedule class student even though there was a lot of opposition from the then society. In 1891, the college became first grade college with LLB and BA classes. For post graduate classes the affiliation was given in the year 1893. Dr.
Shankar Dayal Sharma, the former President of India, is one of the distinguished alumni of this college.
The college has a 2 hostel facilities with capacity of around 200 students within the college campus. There is an exclusive hostel for the female students known as the Davies House and that for male students is known as
Bishop French.
There is also a well equipped and enhanced
Central Library for the students available in the campus of the college.
