There is only one
Red Light District in Antwerp known as Schipperskwartier. It comprises of Vingerlingstraat,
Villa Tinto, Schippersstraat and Verversrui. Formerly there was an ever increasing problem of safety and security in this red light area. In the year 2000, the city’s mayor consolidated prostitution in to three block zone. This zone is now high security area with police all over and highly regulated.
