Shyama
Charan Lahiri was an Indian and a disciple of Mahavatar Babaji. He is also known as Lahiri Mahasaya, Yogiraj and
Kashi Baba. He was born on September 30, 1828 in Ghurni Village,
Bengal Province, British India. In year 1861, he learned the Kriya
Yoga from Mahavatar Babaji. He was also a guru of Yukteswar giri. At the Government Sanskrit College he studied Urdu, Hindi, French, English, Persian, Bengali, Sanskrit and Vedas. He worked as an accountant in the Military Engineering Department. He also taught Kriya Yoga and other moral teachings to the people of all caste. He died on September 26, 1895.
