Kabuki Theatres are traditional theatres in
Japan where the artists perform classical Japanese dance-drama. Kabuki originated in 1603 and the founder of the dance-drama is Izumo no Okuni. Kabuki play comprises of three elements. They are jidai-mono or historical; sewa-mono or domestic and shosagoto or dance pieces. Kabuki play uses different types of stage setting namely Hanamichi-flower path, Mawari-butai –revolving stage, Seri – traps, Chunori – riding in mid-air and Hiki Dogu – a small wagon stage.
