Jagadish Shettar is an Indian Politician and senior leader of the Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP). He was the 21st
Chief Minister of the Karnataka, India and during year 2008-2009, he was the speaker of the
Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He was born on December 17, 1955 in Kerura, Bagalkot District, Karnataka, India. He has done bachelors in Commerce and Law and was practicing lawyer at Hubli Bar for a period of twenty years.
Jagdish Shettar started his political career by participating in all the activities of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and later became a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He was also appointed as the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party in year 2005. He is one of the most influential and famous leaders of the North Karnataka Region.
