Jackson is the head of the Jackson musical family. She was born on May 4, 1930 in Barbour County, Alabama, United States.
Katherine contracted Polio at the age of two but survived the disease. Katherine aspired to become a Country singer as a child. In November 1949, Katherine married the
Joseph Jackson. Soon after marriage they sang together with
Joe playing guitar. For a period, Katherine also worked in a local
Sears store as a Store Clerk. Katherine and Joe Jackson had ten children. Katherine Jackson released her autobiography “My Family” in year 1990.
