Marine Corps Air Station
El Toro was the
United States Marine Corps Air Station located in
Orange County, California, United States. It was established in year 1942 and was in use from year 1943 to 1999.It was spread on 4, 682 acres of land and was the home of
3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The station had four runways that could handle the largest aircraft in the
U.s military inventory and it was known as the Master
Jet Station. The site of the EL Toro
Marine Base is now used as a filming location and is in plan to convert the site into the recreational center. The site was also featured in the film
Independence Day.
