Eastern Market is an underground island platformed
Washington Metro station which was opened on July 1, 1977 in
Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. It has managed and controlled by the WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) and offered its services to
Orange as well as blue Lines. The station is named after a historic market of Washington, D.C. As of 2010, more than 2.458 million passengers visited the
Eastern Market station. In 2014, the station is also start providing services for
Silver Line route.
