The
National Museum is an Art museum, Islamic Art, Historic site; established on April 17, 1950 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The Museum is located in Frere Hall, which was erected in 1865 during nineteenth century. In 1979, the National Museum was shifted in new premises situated in Burnes Garden, Dr. Zia-ud-din Road. The basic purpose of designing Nationwide Museum was to gather, protect, study and display the information of the cultural background of Pakistan. At present, the National Museum has eleven galleries including a exquisite Quran Gallery, where more than 300 Quran copies are available.
