Mike the Tiger
Habitat is one of the legal costumed mascots located in the
Louisiana state university of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. It is having a famous
Lsu Men’s and women’s sports team known as Tigers and
Lady Tigers. The Live tiger Mascot has been inaugurated at the time when
Mike I visited the campus on 21st October, 1936. It was 2,000 square feet in height and provides limited kind of necessities required by the tigers. In the year 2001, “I Like Mike” campaign was initiated in order to build a new and
Big home for Mike the tiger. During the first phase of campaign, donations were being accepted through Tiger Trunks near the campus of LSU at the time when home football games have already begun. Moreover, the collection boxes were positioned at each concession stands at tiger stadium as well as
Pete Maravich Assembly center.
The Second phase includes the people who were donating $100 along with a
Brick engraved. These bricks were further used for the construction of the Walkway near Mike’s new environment. The Tiger Athletic Foundation’s (TAF) Collegiate club along with student association has fully participated in raising funds for this campaign. The Campaign was leaded by the De Laine Emmert and
Bill Husley which has also took initiative in adding more sponsors for the project. This habitat is recognized as the largest as well as prominent tiger safeguards throughout the United States. It also consists of husbandry programs, research, educational interpretive, conservation and recreational activities.
