 Cardiff Kook is a statue of a surfer which is located just near of Highway 101 in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, and the statue was erected in the year of 2007 by Matthew Antichevich who is an Encinitas surfer and also a teacher of
 Mount San Jacinto College. The statue's officially name is The
 Magic Carpet Ride, but in local area, the statue is known as its nicknamed, The Cardiff Kook. The statue's height is 16-foot (4.9 m), and it has been raised with the cost of around $120,000. In 2007, the statue was awarded by The
