Sarkis Acopian was born on December 8, 1926 in Tabriz, Iran and died on January 18, 2007. He was an industrialist, inventor and humanitarian. Sarkis Acopian settled in US in 1945. In 1957, he started a company namely Acopian Technical Company, where he manufactured the first ever solar radio. Sarkis Acopian supported many charitable organizations during his lifetime.
