Jim Al-Khalili is a British physicist. He is also an author and a broadcaster. Jim Al-Khalili was born on 20 September 1962 in Bagdhad, Iraq and his real name is Jameel Sadik Al-Khalili. He has been serving as an academic at the University of Surrey. Jim Al-Khalili was also appointed as the president of British Humanist Association in January 2013. He has been been honored with many awards such as Order of the British Empire (2008), Michael Faraday Prize (2007), Kelvin Prize (2011) and Honorary Degree (DSc). Jim Al-Khalili has also authored many books which include Black Holes, Wormholes and Time Machines (1999), Nucleus: A Trip into the Heart of Matter (2001) and Paradox (2012).
