Alex Filippenko is a well known astrophysicist from America. He also renders his services for the University of California, Berkeley and works as a Professor of astronomy. He was born in Oakland, California, USA on July 25, 1958. He attended University of California and completed his Bachelor's in Physics degree from there. In the year 1984, Alex Filippenko earned Ph.D. in astronomy from the California Institute of Technology. He is better remembered for Type Ia Supernova Studies.
