Arvind Gupta is a toy inventor and social worker from India. He started his social service in the 1970's by teaching the children of the mess staff in Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Arvind Gupta developed the idea of creating simple toys and educational experiments using locally available materials in the late 1970's. He is also the author of the book Matchstick Models and other Science Experiments. Arvind Gupta has won several awards that include National Award for Science Popularization amongst Children (1988), Indian National Science Academy (2008), Third World Academy of Sciences Regional Prize (2010) etc.
