Auburn Tigers Football is the football team of Auburn University. It was formed in the year 1892. The first coach of the team was John Heisman. He rendered his services from 1892–1903. Next to him was Mike Donahue. He was appointed in the year 1904 and was with the team till 1922. The other coaches of the Auburn Tigers Football include Pitts, Morey, Bohler and Wynne (1923–1933), Jack Meagher from 1934-1942, Voyles and Brown between the years 1944 and 1950. Ralph "Shug" Jordan from 1951–1975, Doug Barfield (1976–1980), Pat Dye (1981–1992), Terry Bowden (1993–1998), Tommy Tuberville (1999–2008) and Gene Chizik (2009–2012). Gus Malzahn was appointed as the head coach of the team in the year 2013.
