Zaheer-ud-din Babar Awan is a statesman and lawyer of Pakistan. He was born on January 27, 1958 in Kahuta, Rawalpindi and is also an author, columnist and leftist. Babar Awan was elected as the Pakistan Senator from Punjab Province in 2012. He previously served as the Minister of Law and Justice (2008-2011) and First Vice president of Pakistan Peoples Party (2011-2012). Babar Awan writes columns for the notable newspaper of Pakistan, the Daily Jang. He began his political career in 1997 and is affiliated with Pakistan Peoples Party.
