Baylor Bears is the Baylor University's football team. It was established in late 1890's. The first coach of the Baylor Bears was R. H. Hamilton, who served from 1899–1900. Since the team started playing, it has changed 25 coaches till 2014. Some of the other coaches include W. J. Ritchie (1901), J. C. Ewing (1902), R. N. Watts (1903), Sol Metzger (1904), Frank Kimbrough (1941–1942, 1945–1946), John D. Bridgers (1959–1968) and Grant Teaff (1972–1992). Arthur Ray Briles was appointed as the 25th head coach in the year 2008.
