Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was born on 15 July 1949. He is also known as Sheikh Mohammed. He succeeded his brother, Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum as constitutional monarch of Dubai in January-February 2006. He was appointed as Crown Prince of Dubai on 3rd January 1995. Sheikh Mohammed is responsible for the development of various projects that include creation of the Palm Islands, Burj Al Arab hotel and promoting the construction of Burj Khalifa.
