Altaf Husain was a Pakistani journalist and political activist. He was born on January 26, 1900 in Sylhet, East Bengal and Died at the age of 68 on May 25, 1968 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Altaf Husain served as the Editor–in–Chief of the Dawn Newspapers from 14 August 1947 to 16 August 1965. He also was the Industry Minister of Pakistan and assumed office on 17 August 1965 upto May 15, 1968. Altaf Husain was a BA and MA in English language from Calcutta University and University of Dhaka respectively.
