Leroy David Baca commonly known as Lee Baca was the 30th sheriff of Los Angeles County. He was born on May 27, 1942 in East Los Angeles, California and died in 2014. He joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1964 and was sworn in as a deputy in 1965. Lee Baca served at many positions which include sergeant, lieutenant, captain, commander, chief deputy and sheriff at the Los Angeles Sheriff Department. Lee Baca pursued his education from Benjamin Franklin High School and is popularly known for working with Council on American-Islamic Relations.
