Government College – Sausar which is known as one the most reputated degree college among the degree colleges of Madhyapradesh, is established in Oct 2, 1984 in Sausar, the famous Tehsil for Cotton and Orange in Chhindwara district. Government College – Sausar was established in a hired building near `Nimni road’. A sublime step of the college was, it transferred in its own magnificent, splendid and huge building stands beside Nagpur – Chhindwara main road in 1994.
Government College – Sausar stands in the heart of Mother Nature and surrounded with the beauty of Nature, far away from the busy and gaudy city life. Walking on the way of success college is providing quality education with all the facilities in ‘Arts’ and ‘Science’ subjects affiliated to Dr. H. S. Gour University, Sagar (M.P.) including all fascinating facilities for practical in laboratory.
Government College – Sausar is situated at District – Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. The college is touching the new heights of success and achievement every year with co-education system. The college is soon going to assessed by NAAC in March 2007. Under self financing scheme the college has started B.A./B.Sc. (Computer Application) and M.A. (Political Science and Economics). College is going to introduce M.A. (English) and M.A. (History) classes in the session. 2007-08. The college has started U.G.C. 'Internet Resource Centre.

The library adequately equipped with books covering wide range of disciplines of academic and non-academic interest. The college provides No. of Books-8156, Reference books-1014, Course books-5989, Newspaper-05, Magazines-05.
Government College – Sausar provides an extensive sports ground for field and tract events. Football, Cricket, Basketball, and Volleyball court. Kho – Kho, Hockey and other indoor games are also being played. The N.S.S. unit of 50 volunteers is being conducted from 1995. An adviser association is made up in this college. To conduct the regular activities, N.S.S. unit of the college has prepared a calander in year 2006-07.
Cadets from NSS of Government College – Sausar are actively participating in various activities under guidance of Dr. D. R. Daheriya. Students very enthusiastically participating in the activities like garden maintenance, general assistance and facilitation of patients , pulse polio, AIDS awareness, cleanliness of college campus, orientation of the volunteers.
