Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering - SSNCE, commonly known as SSN, is an engineering institution situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The College of Engineering is certified with ISO 9001:2000 from Bureau Veritas Quality International. The college started to function from 1996 at a temporary location in Thoraipakkam in the suburbs of Chennai Tamil Nadu.
SSN College of Engineering - Chennai moved to an extensive 1 square kilometer campus at Kalavakkam on Rajiv Gandhi Salai Old Mahabalipuram Road, the Cyber Corridor of Chennai in 1998. Each year the Management offers 4 Crore rupees scholarships for the eligible students. There is a "walking-walkout" scholarship that is given to top 10 rank holders in high school exams where in the students' fees are completely waived off including hostel charges.
SSN College of Engineering - Chennai department of Electronics and Communication was set up in the year 1996. The Department has been recognized by NBA National Board of Accreditation. The Department has structured two AICTE-ISTE Short Term Training programs funded by AICTE and a Faculty Development program sponsored by Anna University. The Department is well-resourced with all facilities like Standard labs, Seminar hall and Multimedia system. The Department has secured 10th Rank in the University of Madras examination held in the year 2001. So far 71.3% of the eligible final year undergraduates have been placed in various reputed companies through campus selection. The Programmes run by the Departments are: B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering, M.E. Communication System and M.E. Applied Electronics.
