The
First Church was built in 1718 and the other site was built in 1789.Then
Cathedral largely expanded.At that time wooden structure was adopted. In 1725, the bricks and timber church began. After sometime the church was totally destroyed with many other old buildings. The new church was built in 1789.The construction completes after 6 years in 1794. On March 12, the contract of the church was handover to
Patrick Kirwan. In this contract the church was enlarged by using the Pouilly’s plan.In 1819 the old tower of the building was reused in the new construction. The Pope Paul visited
Louis Cathedral.
