Alyansa Tigil Mina (ATM) is a non-governmental organization against the aggressive promotion of large-scale mining in the Philippines. It was founded in the early 2000's and comprises of several other Non-Government Organizations, People’s Organizations, Church groups and academic institutions. ATM is both an advocacy group and a people’s movement, working in solidarity to protect Filipino communities and natural resources, threatened by large-scale mining operations. ATM is against the policy regime of the administration in promoting foreign-controlled and export-oriented large-scale mining. ATM works towards Scrapping of the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 and the Passage of an Alternative People’s Mining Act, Revocation of EO 270-A and the rejection of the National Minerals Action Plan and nationwide moratorium on large-scale mining operations.
