Association of Yale Alumni (AYA) provides a channel for communication between the alumni and the University. It came into existence in the late 1960's and in 1972 the first Assembly of representatives gathered together for the first semi-annual meeting of the governing body of the AYA. AYA performs the functions viz. to maintain the stature of Yale University, to oversee the direction of all alumni organizations and programs and to provide the means for the explication and forthright examination of University policies along with providing a channel of mutual communication between the alumni and the University. The members of AYA may be affiliated with the association through its three building block constituencies viz. classes, clubs, graduate and professional school associations.
