Ustad Ghulam Ali is a ghazal singer from Pakistan. He was born on December 5, 1940 in Kaleki, Sialkot District, Pakistan. Ghulam Ali is very much popular in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, as well as amongst South Asian Diaspora in the USA, the UK and the Middle Eastern Countries for his style and variations in singing Ghazals. He started his career in 1960, singing for Radio Lahore and entered Bollywood in 1982 with the song Chupke Chupke Raat Din in B. R. Chopra's film, Nikaah. Some of his notable ghazals include Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa, Kiya Hai Pyar Jisé, Kal Chaudhvin Ki Raat Thi, Yé dil yé pagal dil and Apni Dhoon Mein. Ghulam Ali has also sung some Nepali ghazals such as Kina kina timro tasveer, Lolaaeka tee thula, Ke chha ra diun etc., and became the first person to receive the Bade ghulam ali khan award in February 2013
