Betty Joan Perske professionally known as Lauren Bacall is an American actress and model. She was born on September 16, 1924 in The Bronx, New York, U.S. and is widely known for her sultry looks and distinctive husky voice. Lauren Bacall made her acting debut in leading role with the film To Have and Have Not in 1944. She took lessons from American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Lauren Bacall has been honored with many awards which include Sarah Siddons Award (1972), George Eastman Award (1990), Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award (1993) and Academy Honorary Award (2009).
