Kongu Polytechnic College - Erode was established in the year 1983 by Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust, Kongu Polytechnic College has been consistently rendering knowledge oriented service in the realms of Science, Engineering and Technology for twenty five years. Kongu Polytechnic College - Erode is located at KEC Campus, Perundurai R.S.Road, Thoppupalayam, Perundurai, Erode, Tamil Nadu. Kongu Polytechnic College - Erode central library is stacked with national international books and journals with technical reports, monographs, statistical data etc. 550 journals and magazines in the field of science and technology are also available. We also have an online digital library comprising more than 550 magazines and journals. Apart from this, various other Digital libraries like ACM, ASME, IEEE are present. ACM is for General books and journals, while ASME is for Management related resources and IEEE is for all computer and communication based sources.
A Guest house has been constructed in Kongu Polytechnic College - Erode with three suites and four guest rooms at a cost of Rs.50,50,500/- with an area of 6,615 sq.ft for guests visiting our institution. All sorts of modern facilities are available. It is constructed at a cost of Rs.5,43,750 with an area of 1450 sq.ft with two beds. Doctors are employed to take care of the students and faculties who come for treatment. An ambulance van is available for emergency. There is a temple for Lord Vinayaga in our campus. Poojas are being performed daily for the prosperity and peaceful mind of one and all. The temple is located in a serene atmosphere. There is a driving school under the supervision of our Mechanical Engineering department. It arranges driving training of two wheelers and four wheelers for the students and faculties. We arrange driving licence also.
Kongu Polytechnic College - Erode provides game facility. The Department of Physical Education aims at encouraging the students to participate in indoor and outdoor games and improves the sportsman qualities. Students are encouraged to participate in tournaments, games, matches and sports organized by other colleges. Kongu Polytechnic College - Erode students bag 25 medals every year. NCC (In-tantry unit national cadet corps) with strength of 70 cadets was instituted in the year 1994 and is attached to 15 (TN) BN NCC; erode under NCC group head quarters, Coimbatore. It aims at importing discipline, service attitude, leadership-quality, personality & development and patriotism. Regular parades are conducted and our cadets attend various training camps.
Kongu Polytechnic College - Erode has two units of NSS which have 100 volunteers. Our NSS units have been rendering social service since 1987 such as construction works, medical camps, technical activities, awareness programmes, cleaning works, planting of trees, de-silting programmes, road repair works, medical camps. To mark social service achievement, our institution has been selected as the best NCC unit and NSS officers are awarded by Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu Government.
