Matrusri Education Society was founded in 1980 by a group of visionaries and philanthropists such as Arshadharmasri Late Sri. Maturi Venkata Subba Rao as Founder Secretary, Sri. Maturi Gopala Rao, the Architect of Nagarjunasagar Dam as Founder Chairman, besides persons of eminence who were industrialists, doctors, businessmen, administrators and advocates. The Society first established Maturi Venkata Subba Rao Engineering College or MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad in 1981 which is now located in a sprawling campus at Nadergul, RR Dist., AP.
MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad was established in 1981. It is one of the earliest of the colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh, india that pioneered engineering education in private sector. MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad was founded by Matrusri Education Society, whose members distinguished themselves as engineers, doctors, accountants, lawyers, businessmen and administrators.

After completing two decades of excellent service in Technical Education, the college has celebrated its Silver Jubilee year in February 2007. MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad offers degree courses in a variety of disciplines of engineering, three PG programmes in engineering, MCA and MBA. It is also the first non-minority college in the state to offer Automobile Engineering. The total student strength at present is over 2800. There are 175 well-qualified faculty and 200 technical supporting staff. MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad offers different kind of bachelor and master courses leading to different streams.
MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad was initially situated at Saidabad, Hyderabad, and was fully shifted to the present sprawling campus at Nadergul, Hyderabad. MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad does not have a Hostel of its own. However a private Boys Hostel Sri Sai Sadan Boys Hostel runs by the management member by Sri. M.V. Vasudeva Rao. Jt. Secretary. Hostel is 5 minute walk from the College. This Hostel is exclusive for the Boys of this College.
Central library of MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad also has a good number of highly qualified professional staff and they have computer and allied technical skills which they acquired by getting in service training, attending conferences and seminars on information technology. Audiovisual Library MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad this is an additional facility which is providing for our college students. We have a large stack of C Ds and other audiovisuals for both in - house and in - home use.
Placement Cell and Career Guidance Cell of MVSR Engineering College - Hyderabad was established in the year 1997 with Mr. J. Prasanna Kumar, Head, and CSE officiating as Placement Officer. The Cell was helpful in the placement of hundreds of students in many prestigious companies in the country. Mr. M.V. Srinvasa Rao, Asst.Prof, CED is the Asst. Placement & training Officer. Faculty members from each department are co-opted as members of the Placement Cell.
