Sarada Vilas College – SVC Mysore located in the heart of the beautiful and heritage city of Mysore, was established in the year 1945 as an Intermediate College. Bachelors Degree in Science streams was introduced in the year 1952. During its journey of 64 years, SVC has embraced in its fold innumerable present day luminaries as students and many stalwarts as faculty. Now it is purely a Science College offering Bachelors degree in Science, encompassing both physical and natural sciences. The College has been under 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act since its inception. The College is re-accredited by NAAC in 2010 with B grade with CGPA of 2.89.
Sarada Vilas College – SVC Mysore offers undergraduate programmes leading to Bachelors Degree in Science. The B.Sc. programme has three optional subjects, forming a combination, all with equal weightage. The College provides education in eight combinations: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), Physics, Electronics and Mathematics (PEM), Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science (PMCS), Electronics, Mathematics and Computer Science (EMCS), Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (CBZ), Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology (BMBt), Chemistry, Zoology and Biotechnology (CZBt) and Biochemistry, Microbiology and Botany (MBB).
Sarada Vilas College – SVC Mysore boasts of elite faculty with three Doctorates and four M. Phils., richly endowed with knowledge and experience. Staff members constantly update their knowledge by participating in refresher courses, seminars and workshops. The Institution has organized several workshops and seminars for the benefit of staff and students. Special lectures by eminent scholars are arranged regularly. Ours has been a co-education College since inception. It caters to diverse needs by admitting achievers in sports, NCC and cultural activities. The College has semester system with a mechanism for continuous evaluation and semester end University examination. Our students regularly maintain excellent results (around 90%) which are above the University average.
The Library of Sarada Vilas College – SVC Mysore came into existence in the year 1945. At present, the collection exceeds thirty two thousand books on a wide range of subject. In addition to the above listed subjects, the library has a rich collection of books on Art, Literature, Religion, Civilization, General Knowledge and Sports, as well as Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Thesaurus, CDs and Audio Cassettes. Apart from books, the library subscribers regularly refer to a large number of daily Newspapers, Magazines, journals and Periodicals.

Canteen facility is also available in the premises of Sant Rocha Singh Degree College – Jammu for the benefit of both students and staff of the college.
