Saradha Gangadharan College – SGC Pondicherry founded by the Sri Saradha Gangadharan Educational Trust, Pondicherry, started functioning from the academic year 2001-2002. G. Swaminathan the founder chairman promoted this institution in the year 2001 by giving 10 acres of land to the institution. Saradha Gangadharan College – SGC Puducherry offers eight Under-Graduate courses. B.Sc Computer Science, B.C.A. B.Sc Mathematics, B.Com, B.Com Corporate Secretaryship, B.B.A,B.Sc (Physics) and B.Sc( IT).

The college also subscribes for international and national journals, periodicals and newspapers for the students and faculty members at the college library. The Department of Computer Science and Applications has excellent computing facilities for teaching and laboratory work.
There are four laboratories containing 25 digital kits, 20 MPs and 85 PCs equipped with UPS and a substantial amount of software viz. Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2003 Professional, Linux 9.0, etc., apart from substantial languages. As a milestone, Saradha Gangadharan College – SGC Pondicherry has introduced a Wireless LAN Laboratory consisting of 45 systems with the intention of introducing new technology to our students.
