Ngo Bao Chau is a mathematician of Vietnamese origin. He was born on June 28, 1972 in Hanoi, North Vietnam. Ngo Bao Chau is known for proving the fundamental lemma for automorphic forms. He has also worked on the fundamental lemma for unitary groups along with Gérard Laumon. Ngo Bao Chau holds a PhD from the Universite Paris-Sud and is a professor at the University of Chicago. He has been felicitated with awards like Clay Research Award (2004), Sophie Germain Prize (2007), Fields Medal (2010) etc.
