Hindu College of Education - HCE Sonepat was established in July 1968. Hindu College of Education is one of most eminent teacher education institution not only in the district or the state but the whole of North India. It is run by the Hindu Educational and Charitable Society, Sonepat, a well known society of the area. The purpose of the college is to meet the growing demands of the framed teachers in the area, state and joining states as well. The institution has a broad vision to inculcate the best practices in student teachers, in service teachers and community members. Hindu College of Education - HCE Sonepat mission is to impart quality teacher education through all round development of the students. It also tries to create awareness among the students as well as community members regarding social, economic, educational, religious problems. Hindu College of Education - HCE Sonepat also tries to inculcate spiritual values among the students through various curricular and co curricular activities. The library is stacked with more than 17,000 textbooks and reference books and about 30 journals and magazines. It has adequate study material with ample sitting arrangement. Book bank facility is awarded to meritorious students. Institution has a seminar hall equipped with LCD's, OHP Audio Systems to facilitate presentation and guest lecturers for students on regular basis.

The science lab is equipped with latest apparatus, aids and specimens. Pupil teachers use these aids during practice session to make their teaching effective.
Hostel facility is only provided to girls by Hindu College of Education - HCE Sonepat. The hostel is well equipped with facilities like GYM, solar geysers, water cooler and common room with recreational facilities. The hostel mess is well maintained, clean and hygienic. Women cell is established in Hindu College of Education - HCE Sonepat to make the students aware about the duties, rights and laws concerning women. The college has well maintained and spacious sports ground for outdoor games as badminton, basketball etc. For indoor games there is well equipped sports room. Sports competitions are held every year. Students are encouraged to participate in inter-college and university tournaments.

Under the guidance of some faculty members many students have been awarded PhD degree by M.D.U. Rohtak.
